Job Description

We are seeking a Health Services Mentor to join our team to implement our HIV/AIDS programs for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and their caregivers. You will play a critical role in training and developing our team of assistant mentors to ensure high-quality HIV prevention, case finding, care and treatment services for beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to healthcare providers on HIV care and treatment, including clinical management, adherence support, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Conduct regular household visits to perform health checks, ensure service delivery quality and identify areas for
  • Develop and implement training and capacity building for assistant mentors, utilizing evidence-based approaches and adult learning
  • Participate in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities, including data collection, analysis, and

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in Nursing, Public Health, or related
  • Minimum of two years of experience in HIV care and treatment, with experience working with
  • Experience working with USAID environment, their processes and M&E tools.

Role and Responsibilities

The Data Management Mentor (DMM) will be responsible for the collaborating, implementing, data management, monitoring, evaluation and learning of Jika Uluntu’s pillars from systems change perspective, namely.

The DMM will ensure that all programs are executed efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with the organization’s vision and mission.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor data quality and work with program staff to address any issues or inconsistencies.Designing, developing, and implementing data collection systems using  ODK, Salesforce and USAID tools while managing and maintaining the data collection system.
  • Developing data cleaning and processing workflows to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data in addition to conducting  regular  data quality  checks and audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Work closely with program staff to develop and implement data management plans that meet program needs and ensure data quality. Collaborating with project  teams  to ensure that data management plans are aligned with project objectives and requirements.
  • Develop and implement data collection protocols and training materials to ensure that staff are collecting accurate and complete data. Train data collectors on how to use the data collection systems.
  • Generating reports and visualizations to communicate data findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors as needed to support data management activities.Develop and maintain data dashboards and reports to track program progress and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and implement data security and privacy policies and procedures to protect sensitive data. Ensuring data security by implementing data backup, archiving, and recovery procedures

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, data management, or statistics.
  • At least two years of experience in data management, preferably in a non-profit sector.
  • Experience with Salesforce and ODK, and proficiency in other data management tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex data sets and identify trends and insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with program staff and external partners.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations and guidelines, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in training and supporting staff on data management tools and best practices.
  • Familiarity with non-profit or public sector program management and evaluation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to achieving program objectives.
  • Strong familiarity with PEPFAR and USAID policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and reporting requirements will be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and lsiXhosa.
  • Own transport

The SMP will ensure that all programs are executed efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with the organization’s vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program strategies, goals, and objectives for each of JU’s pillars.

• Oversee the development of program plans, budgets, and timelines. 2

• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government officials.

• Manage program staff and ensure that they have the necessary resources, tools, and support to implement programs effectively.

• Monitor program activities and progress and ensure that program outcomes are achieved.

• Identify and manage program risks and issues and develop contingency plans.

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

• Prepare program reports for internal and external stakeholders and provide regular updates to the senior management team and board of directors.

• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to assess program effectiveness and impact.

• Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation and develop proposals for new programs.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Social Science, Social Work, Health, Economics, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

• At least 2 to 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a non-profit organization.

• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple programs simultaneously, with a track record of achieving program outcomes.

• Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage program risks and issues.

• Knowledge of and experience with monitoring, evaluation & learning tools and techniques.

• Knowledge of systems change tools and techniques.

• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and experience working with government departments and donors.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to achieving program objectives.

• Experience linking youth to employment or entrepreneurship activities.

• Knowledge of the potential private sector and public support landscape for children, youth, and women in South Africa

• Demonstrated PEPFAR experience in managing and supervising a team.

• Strong familiarity with PEPFAR and USAID policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and IsiXhosa.

• Extensive experience using Microsoft365 professional, Salesforce for Non-Profit Organizations, and Open Data Kit
