Strong education professional with a Masters in Social Science focused in African Studies. Extensive experience in the financial services sector working in consulting and actuarial services.

I am a dedicated, motivated, and focused individual who strongly believes in following through on the dreams and goals that I have for myself. I have a strong passion for working with children and believe that we can learn as much from them as they can from us. My educational background in psychology and criminology work in tandem to strengthen my desire to see children prospering and ensuring that they are treated as the law stipulates. I join this team as an Education Services Assistant Mentor with the hope that my contributions will develop and strengthen the young minds that I have been entrusted with. I am empathetic to a fault, which allows me to act in ways that would protect others, rather than hurt or compromise them. Vatiswa was born and raised in Mdantsane, a township in EL. I completed my BA honours degree at the University of the Western Cape, majoring in Psychology and Community development. I am passionate about education and youth development as a whole especially for young people coming from disadvantaged areas. Having worked in the NGO sector for 9 years providing Psychosocial support, mentoring, counselling, career guidance and coaching to High school and University students has honed my people skills and love for young people. Being the charismatics person that I am, I still feel I am called to serve a greater purpose in life. I still want to pursue Postgraduate studies in Education and further expand my knowledge in developing more developmental and educational programmes to improve our education system.

Also as a health promotion officer, I focus on initiatives that promote well-being and health literacy among disadvantaged communities. My studies in behavioral sciences related to HIV/AIDS equipped me to serve as a mentor in the DREAMS project, empowering young girls to navigate challenges and enhance their resilience. Additionally, I contributed as a community facilitator for the Asivikelane campaign, advocating for community rights and participation. My diverse experiences reflect my commitment to education, health, and community development.
