I am a dedicated, motivated, and focused individual who strongly believes in following through on the dreams and goals that I have for myself. I have a strong passion for working with children and believe that we can learn as much from them as they can from us. My educational background in psychology and criminology work in tandem to strengthen my desire to see children prospering and ensuring that they are treated as the law stipulates. I join this team as an Education Services Assistant Mentor with the hope that my contributions will develop and strengthen the young minds that I have been entrusted with. I am empathetic to a fault, which allows me to act in ways that would protect others, rather than hurt or compromise them. The opportunity to work at Jika Uluntu will allow me to follow my passions and nurture my natural talents. As a former Youth Ambassador, Chuma engaged in advocacy and peer education, advocating for community decisions that benefit the youth. This role involved national and international travel to address critical issues facing young people. During this time, Chuma also volunteered as an HIV/AIDS Official, providing education on risk reduction, conducting medical testing, and offering counseling to those with positive test results. The focus was on preventing unnecessary deaths and connecting individuals with essential HIV prevention, treatment, and care. Chuma's expertise extends to facilitation, where they excel in planning, guiding, and managing group events to achieve their objectives. Their impartial and focused approach ensures that group discussions and problem-solving efforts flow smoothly and effectively.
