It was amazing to have more than 50 parents having an honest discussion regarding the hurt and violence that we inflict on our children. Statements such as ‘I was hit and I listened’ reflect the social norms that we need to change to ensure that our children have every opportunity to thrive. Violence against children robs them of their future.

An alarming statistic is that 1 in 3 children in SA is hurt by their parents or caregiver. Violence against children is any physical, sexual, mental, or neglectful action that lead to harming their health, survival, development, or dignity.

Children must be treated with DIGNITY and RESPECT!
